Century Mat Club

Our mission

Our mission at Century Mat Club is to introduce the sport of wrestling to as many young people as possible. To demonstrate the power of an individual and the strength of a team. To get them hooked on wrestling through a positive, fun experience.  We teach the sport of wrestling and strive to help athletes to improve physically, mentally, and technically through hard work, discipline, commitment, patience, and challenges.

We welcome all young athletes in the Century School District.

I’d like to introduce you to the new developers of Century Mat Club,

Brandy Malone, Luke Malone, LJ Hammer. We haven’t had a youth wrestling club for century in three years. It has taken a lot of work to get it started back up. We wanted to bring back to the community a youth wrestling program that will feed the Century high school wrestling program. Our goal is to teach our youth the fundamentals of wrestling. We also want to teach the next generation how we behave on and off the mat. We will all be a team and wrestling family. We have high expectations for our new wrestling club, our wrestlers, our coaches, and our parents. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will try and answer any questions that you may have. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

Please welcome Luke and Brandy

Brandy and Luke Malone have been working with one of the communities' mat club for the last 7 years. We both have learned a lot from working closely with

this club and have decided to bring our skills and knowledge to Century Mat Club. Brandy has7 years experience managing a youth wrestling team. Luke has 10 years experience of personal wrestling in LaGrande youth wrestling. Luke also has 8 years experience working with the youth as a coach here in Hillsboro and Aloha.

Please Welcome LJ

We look forward to working with you.
It is with great pleasure that I get to announce our High school Head Wrestling Coach, LJ Hammer. LJ graduated from Century in 2009 and has been coaching here since 2011. While at Century, LJ participated in Wrestling, Football, and Baseball. When asked about this opportunity, LJ said, “I am very passionate and care about the kids in our programs. I am excited to share my experiences with them and look forward to this opportunity.”
LJ will be the first Century alumni to serve as a Varsity Head Coach. We love the fact that his hard work and commitment to the Century community and Jaguar family will be rewarded. Please help me in welcoming LJ to his new role. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
