Century Mat Club
More Than Wrestling
Wrestling teaches lessons that extend far beyond the mat. Through hard work, discipline, commitment, patience, perseverance, and teamwork, our athletes will build confidence, character, and resilience.
We expect our wrestlers to represent themselves, their teammates, their families, and the Century community with pride—both on and off the mat. Our goal is to create an environment where athletes can learn, compete, grow, and develop a lasting love for the sport.
After several years without a youth wrestling club connected to Century High School, bringing Century Mat Club back to the community has required dedication, commitment, and teamwork. We are grateful for the support of our wrestling families as we continue building and growing the program.
Meet the Team
Century Mat Club is led by Brandy Malone, Luke Malone, and LJ Hammer, whose combined experience and passion will help guide the next generation of Century wrestlers.
Brandy and Luke Malone
Brandy and Luke Malone bring years of youth wrestling, coaching, and program-development experience to Century Mat Club.
Brandy has spent the past several years working closely with a local youth wrestling program, gaining valuable experience managing and helping develop a successful club. She is excited to bring that knowledge to the Century community.
Luke wrestled for approximately 10 years through the La Grande wrestling program and has spent several years working with and coaching youth wrestlers in the Hillsboro and Aloha communities.
Together, Brandy and Luke are committed to creating a strong, positive program where athletes can learn the fundamentals, build confidence, compete with purpose, and prepare for the next level.
Coach LJ Hammer
We are also proud to have LJ Hammer, Century High School’s Head Wrestling Coach, involved with Century Mat Club.
LJ is a proud Century High School alumnus who graduated in 2009. During his time at Century, he participated in wrestling, football, and baseball. Since 2011, he has coached within the Century community and has demonstrated tremendous dedication to Century athletes and the Jaguar family.
LJ became the first Century alumnus to serve as Varsity Head Wrestling Coach, making his leadership especially meaningful to our program. His experience, passion, and commitment will help strengthen the connection between Century Mat Club and Century High School wrestling.
As LJ shared:
“I am very passionate and care about the kids in our programs. I am excited to share my experiences with them and look forward to this opportunity.”
Our Commitment to Families
A successful program depends on everyone—athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters—working together. We have high expectations for our club, but we also want every family to feel informed, involved, and welcomed.
We encourage families to ask questions, stay engaged, and support one another throughout the season. Together, we can create a program our athletes and families are proud to call their own.
One Club. One Family. One Future.
At Century Mat Club, we will:
Teach wrestling fundamentals
Build confidence and character
Encourage hard work and accountability
Promote teamwork and sportsmanship
Support athletes and families
Prepare the next generation of Century Jaguar wrestlers
Join us as we introduce young athletes to the sport, build a stronger wrestling community, and create the future of Century Wrestling.
Welcome to Century Mat Club. Let’s build the future together!
